Simple Church Network

Less crowds. More disciples.

Why the Simple Church Network?

Our experience has confirmed for many involved in Simple Churches that we must continue to support and encourage each other and strive to strengthen that support for those upcoming communities into the future.

Creating a Network committed to mutual encouragement, prayer, connection, resourcing and equipping will ensure that those out there “doing it different” in obedience to God’s call have other likeminded people and communities alongside to sharpen and cause them to thrive. We believe this unity of mind and purpose will be used by God to expand and multiply his work in and through his body of simple church communities.

Connection with the Baptist Movement enables the simple churches’ contribution to missional thinking and creative Kingdom work to positively influence the entire Movement. It promotes unity and accountability with each other and the wider body of churches. Whilst the Baptist Movement’s support, equipping and assistance, including handling today’s complex legal requirements, releases simple church communities from the constraints and extra structures they have been birthed to avoid. This enables our communities to “keep the main thing the main thing” more easily!

We gather at the Simple Church Day and FORM Conference to encourage one another and share stories of what God is doing.

The Lounge

We have the opportunity to connect bimonthly online through Zoom. This is a time to connect with one another and learn. Sometimes we invite local and international guests to stimulate the conversation and hear exciting stories of what God is doing around the place.

SIMPLE CHURCH TASTER

The Simple Church team invites people to come on a journey with us. It will begin with exploration of the Simple Church concept, and will build into a space for learning and discovery. It will culminate with an opportunity to discover how to begin the process in your own setting and commit to the process of starting a Simple Church .”Taste it and contemplate the possibilities”.

Each year, the Simple Church Taster event introduces a models of fresh expression of Church to help people explore the missional characteristics and purpose in Simple Churches.

For the 2026 Taster, we will be joined by Rev Alison Boulton – a pioneer Baptist Minister, co-founder of the New Housing Hub, and the Baptist Pioneer Ambassador in the UK. She is known for her grassroots work in birthing a church in a new housing estate, national leadership, and as co-author of Pioneer Ministry in New Housing Areas. Ali brings a wealth of wisdom through her mentoring, lecturing, and consultancy across the UK and beyond.
